 MARS α Summer Expedition 2009
« Thread Started on Aug 11, 2009, 1:05pm »

The MARS α Summer Expedition 2009 was a success. We had our largest crew, including a mother and her infant. The goal of MARS α is not just a technical look at Mars exploration, but a realization the only way to successfully approach Mars is in the same manner as the Polynesians. The Polynesians floated whole villages from island to island. MARS α views planets (and space exploration in general) in the same manner as the Polynesians viewed islands. MARS α is the analog of the village that will have to be "floated" to Mars.
